Home Safety Checklist for Seniors
It is important that, when our loved ones are home, they are safe. The trouble is, there are potential hazards lurking in the very homes that are supposed to provide comfort.
That’s why we developed this Home Safety Checklist, so you can quickly and easily address the most common safety hazards in your aging loved ones’ homes.
It is estimated that one in every 3 people, age 65 or older, fall each year, resulting in moderate to severe injuries, including head injuries, hip fractures, and lacerations. In fact, one in 10 people age 85 or older, who fall in the home, incur a hip fracture. One-fourth of seniors who suffer from a hip fracture will die within 6 months of the injury.
These are often caused by avoidable safety risks, that are often overlooked, but generally simple to fix. This simple, printable, checklist helps you identify some of the most common causes of these injuries, so you can fix them before they become a more severe problem.
If you have any questions about this checklist, or caring for aging loved ones, give us a call at (678) 494-8129, or send us a message. We are happy to set up a time to talk with you about your unique situation.
