Healthcare Staffing FAQs
It is important to give us as much time as possible to fill your shifts. However, we understand that your organization is relying on us to fill last minute openings, too. You can always contact us for last minute shifts and we will immediately send messages (text & email) to available staff through our database system and phone calls will immediately follow. It is our priority to keep your community staffed properly.
We will email you a confirmation with the name of the employee(s) that we assigned to the shift(s). If it was a last minute request, we will call you and you will also get an email with the schedule of assigned caregivers attached.
Yes. Every staff member is a Silver Companions employee. To help ensure the safety and well-being of our clients and communities, we cover each caregiver with general liability, non-hired auto, and workers’ compensation insurance.
All of our caregivers have successfully passed a thorough reference and criminal background check and are bonded and insured. We match your specific needs and requests to the skills and background of each caregiver to find a good match for your community. We encourage your involvement in the decision-making process. We hand select each caregiver by carefully assessing the needs and personalities of both caregiver and facility. You can rest assured that we do our best to match the right caregiver. However, you must be satisfied and want you to provide feedback of all of all staff members selected to fill your openings.
Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship with your community. We will do our best to assign the same caregivers to each of your shifts. We will notify you of any new caregivers to your community. We understand that a strong rapport and trust within your community is vital to helping your organization build a strong company. We’ll do what it takes to make sure we achieve that goal.
Yes. All of our CNA’s, RN’s, and LPN’s have all had their license verified and have all obtained CPR/First Aid trainging and TB Testing as required by law. We run an independent and detailed background check to make sure that all medical staff has an honorable background and ion accordance with industry standards.

No. Silver Companions is here to meet your needs, and as your needs change, so will the services you receive. Our service agreement reflects this and flexes to meet changing needs. You can always cancel services when YOU want. We do ask that you give us a 24 hour notice for pre-determined shifts in order for you not to be billed for the pre-determined shift.
No. You (or an authorized representative) are only invoiced after the completion of services. Usually, this happens weekly. You never have to pay caregivers directly. And you’ll never be asked to pay an additional fee to any employee.
Yes. Our care is always determined by what a care recipient may need. We will not oversell your families on services. We will work with your facility, the care recipient’s family and our RN to create a plan of care specific to the resident’s needs. We can bill families or residents directly.
Billing is sent on a weekly basis in most cases.
No. Every agreement is clear and transparent; there are no hidden fees. The most typical additional cost you may incur is a placement fee if you hire our caregiver directly.
