COMPASSIONATE IN HOME CARE

Silver Companions provides that helping hand to maintain your independence, dignity, and daily routine.

Caring for an aging loved one can be extremely stressful and tiring. Most people also have the demands of their everyday life. Silver Companions can help to manage the daily activities for your loved one and keep an open line of communication between clients, families, and caregivers.

Silver Companions offers many different services that are individually tailored to meet each of our client’s specific needs. We start by getting to know you and learning what you expect and need from a caregiver.  We then work with you and our Registered Nurse to design a personalized care plan of how best to meet your needs. Then, we hand select a qualified caregiver that will be personally introduced to you. Our care coordinator will keep in continuous contact with you to make sure that you are satisfied. Whether a one time or recurring visit, we will be there for you and you can feel secure knowing that you will have the same caregiver on most visits, which helps assure familiarity, continuity and consistency.

Silver Companions gives you the opportunity to continue living independently in the comfort of your home or familiar surroundings. By providing caring senior assistance, we can help you to remain at home and to avoid moving into a nursing home.

We specialize in:

  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia & Memory Care

  • Parkinson’s Disease

  • Caring for those with Arthritis

  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

  • Hypertension and Blood Pressure

  • Diabetes

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

  • Mental Health & Depression

  • Fall Prevention and Home Safety

Silver Companions offers AFFORDABLE RATES and a CUSTOMIZED CARE PLAN. Our talented caregivers give you piece of mind because you will know that you and/or your loved ones will be well cared for by a professional and thoroughly trained and caring professional caregiver. We put our client’s and their families in a relaxed state of mind. We would love the opportunity to earn your trust!

Testimonials

My whole family wants to thank you for the compassion you have shown my Mother and Father over the last 2-3 years. You, Leslie, and everyone I met from your company played an important role in making the past years of our Dad’s life happier. Your service in helping us care for Mom after Dad’s passing has been above and beyond

Steve, 68

Silver Companions allows me to make my own schedule, on my own time. I don’t have to be concerned with the pre-determined schedule established by my [senior living] community. I feel free.

Jean, 86

Since I lost my husband, Silver Companions helps me so much by doing the things that [my husband] used to take charge of. They also give me the friendship, love and support that I need. It’s an outstanding service!

Alice, 65

I live in a Senior Living Community and I lost my Driver’s License! Harry takes me out to do things my own way and on my own schedule. No need to bother friends or family! They drive me and remind me of the things I need to do!

Coe, 93

We love Angie. I won’t have anyone else. She really cares about me.

Myrtle, 92

Brian, your passion for your business is inspiring and admirable. I don’t know what we would do without you.

Tom, 55

Leslie and her team have taken excellent care of my mother. They take her out to lunch, for drives, the park, fun activities, Dr. Appointments, etc. If she needs Kleenex or something breaks, Silver Companions takes care of it. They often go way above and beyond of what I expect. Leslie hires great people who are in tune with the elderly.

Pat, 60

There are not any adequate words to tell you what the wonderful staff you sent us has meant to me. I am grateful for your wonderful people and for your personal attention and care for us. Charles had excellent care for every minute he was here, in the hospital, and at hospice. I owe them and you more than money can repay.

Nell, 75

I am so incredibly awed at our fortune to have you be a part of our family and our lives. You are angels. I can’t imagine any better fit than ya’ll have been.

Cid, 60

Your caregiver was great! This was the first time for us using a home care service and she made us feel comfortable. The caregiver looks out for me, not herself

Phyllis, 82

Thank you for the profession you have chosen. I don’t know what I would do without you. You have made things so easy for me to start living again. You are my friend, my confidant, my driver, my caretaker, my reason to get up every day! I don’t know what I would do without you.

Frances, 89

I wouldn’t have anyone else help me. I love my caregiver and she is a huge help. Brenda a big part of my life

Sarabeth, 73

That's a wrap, folks! We're thrilled to have sponsored the Good Friday 2nd annual Senior Easter egg hunt, where we got to witness some serious egg-cellence and community love. Shout out to Bonnie Dobbs for putting it all together, and Benton House of Woodstock, Oak Street Health, Nelson Elder Care Law for also being sponsors. By bringing together Canton and Woodstock Senior centers, we created a egg-stra special opportunity for socialization and celebration. Each senior got a basket, grabber, and free lunch from Family Tradition - because, priorities! We even gave out prizes for most eggs, least eggs, and there was an Easter bonnet contest, because who doesn't love a good hat? Three Easter bunnies busted a move, dancing and judging the Easter bonnet contest, while the DJ spun some classic tunes that got everyone singing along and dancing like nobody's watching. This event was the perfect example of how a little bit of silliness can bring people together and create some serious community magic. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Such an informative program today and a great turnout! It was sponsored by Senior Medicare Patrol who partnered with The Georgia Secretary of State's to bring this financial empowerment event to Cherokee County to help prevent Medicare Fraud and empower your financial wellness journey! Some key takeaways were: Don't let your emotions take over your financial decisions. Long Term Care Insurance can help preserve your assets, can hedge your bets, but best be in your late 40's or early 50's and to explore getting it. There are also hybrid policies which are much more prevalent today. When to take Social Security? Talk to a Certified Financial Planner familiar with your specific situation and think about bringing adult children into financial meeting with financial advisor. This should help avoid common financial mistakes. To check to see if your financial advisor is licensed go to nasaa.org or brokercheck.org Medicare Fraud and scams prey upon fear and urgency. Lots of different types of Medicare Fraud might be home medical equipment or medication showing up unexpectedly, talk about getting you something "free." There are even "deep fake" videos where a person you know looks real and is talking about a particular service or product and you can't tell the difference, so if you have a question reach out to that person directly. Fraud and Scams have turned into a booming business and are very good at what they do. So many who were taken advantage of are embarrassed and don't tell others what happened to them. Really good scammers know how to make sure something doesn't sound too good to be true. Just good enough. Some buzz words - Urgency, NOW! Nothing is normally that urgent, sit down and talk about it first. Everyone is doing it! High rate of guaranteed return! They prey on your emotions and throw out pseudo credentials as real certifications. Scams might include grandparent Scams, tax Scams, romance Scams, inheritance Scams, contracting Scams. It goes on and on. Some red flags might also be asking for gift cards and phone numbers can be easily spoofed so you can't really trust caller ID. Even email address and QR codes are used for scamming. Things we can do to help protect ourselves - Trust no one, get educated, be Fraud aware, pay attention to current news stories. If you see something speak up, report Fraud. Educate yourself and talk to friends and family. Be leery of anyone reaching out. There's nothing wrong with saying "no." We're all in this together to educate and raise awareness! So if you or someone you know suspect a fraud scam has been committed don't hesitate to contact OCI (Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Fire) at 1-800-656-2298 or email cid@oci.ga gov or reach out to Senior Medicare Patrol
